Polipox Shop Primer

It is a two-component, epoxy resin based, polyamide hardener cured shop primer used to protect steel surfaces that have been subjected to abrasive sand-grit blasting against corrosion, delays corrosion, does not impair welding quality and is suitable for use in automatic paint machines. It creates a solid base for paints to be applied on it due to its very good adhesion properties.

Surface Preparation&Application
Surface should be prepared by ISO 8501-01 SA 2½ abrasive sand grit blasting. All surface defects must be eliminated. Once the surface preparation is finished, it should be primed with epoxy shop primer within 3 and 4 hours.
Thinning / Blending Ratio
7 parts by weight POLIPOX SHOP PRIMER + 1 part POLIPOX SHOP PRIMER HARDENER. 5% by weight Epoxy Thinner should be used for thinning when necessary.
Coverage Area
When applied to leave a 30 micron dry film, 9-11 m² of area can be covered with 1 kg of mixture. Practical coating area varies depending on surface roughness and amount of spillage losses.
Drying Time
It is touch dry in 5 minutes and fully dry in 24 hours.
Recommended Application Tools
Brush (in small areas), air and airless spray.
